first tastes

see, my way would be SOOO much faster!

1 tbsp baby rice to 4 tbsp mama's milk. tomorrow's meal will be much less soupy.

we planned to wait until around 6 months before introducing solids. 2 weeks shy of 6 months, and she is definitely showing signs of readiness. now i can't wait to introduce her to so many new tastes and textures. if she likes rice cereal this much, just wait!

super sippy

aiyana loves her sippy cup! she picked out this one and it was a great choice. it has a super squishy top that she can chew on. after she checked it out for a few seconds, she knew just what to do with it.

80's lady

no, mama was not being mean. we were dressed up for an 80's themed birthday party. aiyana's mommy even sported a side pony with a scrunchie. (of course there are no photos of this)

easter egg hunt

easter dress. round two.

easter dress. round one.

notice her gaping mouth...that's not her excitement...it's more her attempt to breathe through her mouth. her 1st cold was in full swing and she was learning how to breathe. sometimes she would forget to open her mouth and then she would have to take a big breath to catch up.

aiyana's baby

we were getting ready for bed and aiyana was soooo sleepy (i.e. fussy/mad)....until she found her baby....then she was soooo happy. this is her "red baby" mostly because she's especially attracted the doll's tasty red bows.

our "lil' dumpling" wants to be right in the action at mealtimes! we gave her a pink spoon to play with while we ate...she gave me "the look" that said, "seriously, mom. how 'bout a little ravioli on this spoon."
i spoon-fed her some mama's-milk and she was so happy! she wanted more!

How To Play Cards. By, Aiyana

let me think about this for a minute.

ok, daddy. this is what you want to play next...

(the pout heard round the world)

there. that's much better.

(she pouted, fussed, got a card, and smiled!) hilarious!

Wally won't mind if i take a peek at his cards...

(i'll just pout...that gets them everytime!)
